Strengthening Knowledge & Innovation ecosystems
The whole chain
By strengthening the entire chain of the computational sciences knowledge and innovation ecosystem, research, development and innovation are stimulated.
This is achieved through future mission-driven programs through agencies such as the Netherlands Organization for Scientific Research (NWO), the Growth Fund and Horizon Europe.
Accelerating sustainability
The goal is to accelerate scientific developments and application areas for sustainability issues. The National Agenda and focus areas serve as guidelines for programs within the four main lines of the KIC and top sector programs, including key technologies. The Netherlands Science Agenda (NWA) also provides opportunities for interdisciplinary collaboration on sustainability and digitization.
Cooperation and strengthening in research and industry
The Netherlands has a strong starting position in computational sciences, but can further strengthen it through investments in research, infrastructure and human capital, especially focused on sustainability applications. Expanding and strengthening existing research centers and consortia stimulates medium-term development and positions them as growth centers for national and international cooperation.
Collaboration between research and industry is essential. This can be promoted through technology transfer programs and facilitating the creation of startups. Transferring technology and fundamental knowledge from focus areas promotes short- to medium-term science-industry cooperation.
