The recently established Computational Science NL platform aims to increase the visibility and impact of Computational Science in the Netherlands. It’s a new platform for strengthening and unifying Computational Science in the Netherlands. An interdisciplinary field that can drive fundamental knowledge and solutions for many societal challenges.
Strategy Board – Looking for members
In 2023, the quartermasters laid the foundation of the Computational Science NL platform and organized the first national computational science conference. The next step is to setup and recruit members for the Strategy Board. As a member of this board you will have the opportunity to shape the strategy and activities of the Computational Science NL platform. You will have direct influence to bring this exciting field and community to the next level.
Profile of a Board member
We are looking for candidates that show an active interest to further stimulate the Computational Science (CS) network and community in the Netherlands.
You are a full, associate or assistant professor, chief scientist (industry), or have a similar position (e.g. NGO, SME, TO2, institute) with:
- Good Computational knowledge or experience
- A broad overview of the Computational Science field
- A broad (inter)national network
- Experience as a committee or board member
- Experience with strategy development
- Strong motivation to realize the goals of the CS platform and CS national agenda
- Awareness of the benefits of a strong, connected community and interdisciplinary collaboration

Members are selected by the selection committee. In the selection of new members they will take into account: motivation, match with the profile, institutional and expertise distribution and all other diversity aspects. The board members are appointed for 3 years with the possibility of 3 year extension. We expect that the activities of the members require 1 day per month. This is a voluntary position.
